Vale Royal Business Awards winners 2008, Family Business of the Year
In 2008, Davenports Florists, Farm Shop and Tea Room. was awarded Family Business of the Year

The Davenport name has traded in the Northwich area since 1930, initially with a string of confectionery and bakery outlets.

Over the years the business has continued to develop into the business today of floristry, growers of quality flowers and plants, and only 18 months ago adding a farm shop, which is already famed for its great tasting local produce.

More recently, after much customer demand, they introduced a quaint old English tearoom, firmly establishing this company as a really great destination for the local community and visitors alike.

In 2007 after fighting off strong competition they won Best Rural Retailer for North Wales & Cheshire in the Countryside Alliance & Daily Telegraph’s best rural retailer competition.

Judges comments: Clearly they have got extensive family network involvement. They have been contributing to the local economy over a period of time in different guises. They have a string of special achievements, which they have undertaken whilst continually looking to improve.
